Must we stoop to base emotions when responding (reacting) to what someone has: said, done or implied… even when to believe the perception we’d use is thought to be correct- and (yet) we might be wrong ourselves!

Tell unity the flag still waves for freedom…
emblematic of the discourse we face,
though distilled in darker days than these,
we shall overcome with much less disgrace.

Tell hope not to fail, encourage her own
with strength and fortitude of character,
found anew is this humble-pride we can
maintain without risk in troubles chancier.

Tell courage to endure… to hunker down
in the path of gale or storm we’d weather,
remember sure and long a calmer time…
storms passing ensures doubt’s whether.

Tell love to embrace what is good, to then
cling to wisdom over a lukewarm heart…
fickle though they’d be, at times, knowledge
of love and how to react is where to start.

Tell honor virtue is still sought for and will
be defended, not left an unwilling conscript,
when liberty for all (bound by love and goal
together) is strived for without such contempt.

If bigot and reactionary can be used interchangeably… it must come down to the bias we exert, the nature of the emphasis… even to who is affected and who gains from it!

Eight years of Bush led us to… eight years of Obama led us to… Trump!

See the words of the ex-President (unvarnished) about religion. Did you wish you knew this back then… but didn’t think it important?
