Pearl Harbor Day 2018 (Dec. 7th)

2018 is the first time there were none to represent the USS Arizona at the memorial.

What did you remember most… on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7th, 2018? Will it be the attack itself! Will it be the Admiral’s words, Admiral Harry Harris, in 2016, on how he felt about “taking a knee” during the rendering of our National Anthem? Will it be like any other day… when all of us turn complacently away without regard to the fallen of our past or reason they gave their lives (then) to ensure a better future for all. There has never been a more critical understanding of “what it takes to keep our country growing” than today, and the headlines of propaganda.

Whatever it might be to you, Don’t forget to pause a little on sacrifice to understand what it was like for the Sullivan Family. The Sullivan brothers served on the USS Juneau, and gave up their lives November 13th, 1942, as they were trying to get reinforcements to the Marines at Guadalcanal. Here is to the valor of honorable tasks but not the knee. We do not need weakkneed boys but men willing to stand up for good reason, just cause and to know the difference between the right thing to do vs. and its opposite.

The very reason brothers must serve on different vessels today… for the next generation.

Pick up no stones

How grim is it for hard hearted people

to pick up a rock, hearts of stone and

pride, to seek retaliation against man

and God alike but given over, planned,

see the action as but to fulfill desire…

to replace God and to be one therein,

if taken to the personal level to seek

pleasure, an un-heavenly gain of sin.

Does not every rock have its place?

Does not every storm come to peace?

To release the mind of strongholds…

find rest for your soul, trials don’t cease.

The whole purpose and reason we

are to realize God’s love, not the stars,

but to know He longs for your return…

well beyond the reach of Venus or Mars,

cannot the panoply of things found in

our existence point to a Masterful design?

If you believe different… do so and I will

believe as I shall, water from a rock resign,

Does not every rock have its place?

Does not every storm come to peace?

To release the mind of strongholds…

find rest for your soul, trials don’t cease.

Face you now your economic waves…

the trials God places us through distinct,

health, loss and grief, confusion… all

are cleared up, reason lies not extinct,

Gender storms to topic, and pedophile

too, seeking protection in the US of A,

Australia is unwilling to allow them free

movement,” …choke a brown dog,” they’d say.

Does not every rock have its place?

Does not every storm come to peace?

To release the mind of strongholds…

find rest for your soul, trials don’t cease.

all signs point to Big Democratic wins in 2018… really! Bloomberg was so wrong here… how could this be? Yes, you got the House but the “Blue Wave” some were expecting evaporated!

You gained a battle but lost the war!

It couldn’t be any clearer- this will affect both black and white together!

The left gained the House but lost seats overall. Who’d you vote for?

Inclusivity seems to be floating around today, again, as if it really needs to be understood or looked at for clarification. There used to be a real desire to become an American, not just someone found to be within our borders demanding the same rights and benefits due one born here. Immigration has always been a plus in this quilted land called America (not migration) but it must be from the original intention to become an American- with allegiance to the US and her laws. To expect justice when none would be shared equally lends to latent freedom… the knowledge of suggestive association or displaced displeasures so easily to be confused with one’s truth. The strongest naysayers are now found on the Democratic side of the aisle… as the Socialists continue to grow with more millennials- seeing themselves as entitled to whatever they want. What happened to the left to cause them to lean against freedom itself… to tug at the fabric of what we are as a combined people but not let the past blind us to suggest change is not possible unless it is done to diminish, and not aid, societal concerns over global politics and goals. Some might say they are Americans but they do not act like their ideal represents itself to be. We don’t need another McCarthy or the media fanning the fires of indignation for the CFR.

Which is more accurate here, a loss of integrity or a psychological disorder?

This applies equally across the aisle of party politics and cuts to the core of who we are and what we’ve done, or what we are doing to ourselves now.

If one would call Trump the cause of hatred… would be to then protest the reason for his visit in Pittsburgh to begin with. It would be equally wrong to be found doing what you claim you are against… biased viewpoints. Here is something Frederick Douglass has said (found below) and note how close it was to George Washington’s words; which went,”… to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.” We cannot undo the past but we can leave an imprint on the sands of our future by remembering it!

“With malice towards none and charity towards all.” This sounds to me as if it shouts of Christian belief… and to take its importance as being no little task.

[Latin for “here and there, everywhere, it does not shine (being darkened by shade)”]

Lead the parade

for all to see,

but don’t expose

me in a tree…

a tree without

the growth of life,

a tree left brittle-

revolutionary strife.

Lives get in the way,

no Che Guevara…

nothing there like

no Pablo Neruda,

the finger pointed

to the distant past

but to affect present

and future contrast.

You must come face to face with who you are… to understand why you’re here and what you are to learn- God is in control. Who do you trust, God or man?

How does one justify “Experimental psychology” being foisted on the US political stage, as the one woman show (began) will be remembered- the name of Christine Blasey Ford. If allegations (claims or assertions) are all that is needed to stop or impede the progress of anyone, the pointed finger of kangaroo-courts, then don’t be surprised when the information provided turns out to be less than truthful and the reaction you had will be the same one you’ll face. Shame “Social psychology” wasn’t considered at all.

Social psychology: the scientific study of how people’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others.

[The abstract below can be found here, Section 4.1 Ockham’s Razor, and through the SEP (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.]

Nevertheless, we do sometimes have sufficient methodological grounds for positively affirming the existence of certain things. Ockham acknowledges three sources for such grounds (three sources of positive knowledge). As he says in Sent. I, dist. 30, q. 1: “For nothing ought to be posited without a reason given, unless it is self-evident (literally, known through itself) or known by experience or proved by the authority of Sacred Scripture.”

To take the liberty you enjoy and seek to remove another’s right to do the same as you- just wrong! You cannot read pigeon droppings on sunglasses as one might read tea leaves- this is the time to stand up for what you believe but not using: lies, deception or false claims to justify your actions stemming from political bias or stigma. Tie in psychology, a nationally recognized science, and this is called logical in nature or is it too experimental?

What we choose to remember in Arizona… John McCain

There are good days and there are bad days, days to laugh and days to cry… a time to pick up stones and gather stones together. Let’s gather stones, today, before the dividing resumes, alright?

Aretha

In memory of one of America’s treasured gifts… called home.

Aretha Franklin will always be “Lady Soul” in my mind, the first Lady… “Queen of Soul” and to her memory and those affected by her heart touching passion for music. Want what you give… and let it be as transformative as “Respect” itself!

The song was written by Otis Redding… one to raise the bar for all of us- something to think about in our current day and time… a timeless quality to the very words. This is also how I feel from hearing of Aretha’s passing… touched! My heart goes out to all her friends and family.

Here is another two for the memory of Aretha’s gift to all of us… her voice and friendship as an ambassador. There is some sadness in knowing she left no will behind.

The “Paniolo” came first… to “Cowboy” up!

To give honor to the legacy of who we are

we will need to be less restricted by view,

this is when perception of any issue turns

into something more some how to ensue

but it is to dishonor our own ways of who

we are as we would focus on yet another,

no more important to us than our own way…

now things laid upon the feet of a Brother,

this is when we see ourselves as nothing

but the stereotype of what we are instead,

the who we are is not affected by condition

and out of place, being unaffected, or read

into… this “feel good” position assumes it

is the “better way” to broaden and embrace

the time and place, the spatial hemispheres

of thought stuck on nervous activity to trace,

this is much more, we are told, than it seems

if we start to believe our own PR on mind,

this is the kicker… the obsession detracts

from who we all are, difference then unkind.

What do you think of when you think cowboy? Individualism! Hard working! Old Western high-tech! If perception is the basis for being for or against “the image of a Cowboy” is when what we feel, ourselves… if negative, is transferred to another, and if positive will bring no need to assault anyone or be upset by the image.

The opposite holds true, enamored with a specific life or lifestyle might have you emulate it to be a part of it- to have it for yourself.

This opinion will skirt on the fringes of psychology… the bedrock of reason, and ruminate on “feelings” and emotion- as feelings impact our actions. Under the heading of “Changing thought” (at this link) is found this line of thought.

If you can interrupt these useless and often irrational thoughts you will not have to feel the negative emotions associated with those thoughts.

This is denial… when he raises his ugly head!

So, thoughts can become feelings… and feelings can influence our actions. This becomes the truest reason found to support the claim,”We are what we think we are”. Is this entirely true? When two people get married there are six pairs of shoes, three pairs for the man he was, the one he is and the one she hopes he will become. The same works for the Groom here. This comes back to how we perceive it to be. In reality, difference is all we have in common and then how we react to it (our own behavior caused by something real or imagined).

This should help seal the deal!

To say one sees a pattern or shape of something in anything is vagueness expounded on at the very least! Does that cloud look like a rabbit to you too… or a horse with long ears?

When it comes to “Cowboys” though, historically speaking, I think of Hawaii. The history of America’s first Cowboys, the Paniolo, were trained by Mexican-Spanish vaqueros… already a heritage steeped with colorful influence and tradition. I also think of Parker Ranch… I knew one of the family and worked with him in my “Culinary” years at the Flamingo Hilton, Laughlin, NV.- a Butcher named Sam.

Hawaiian Cowboy, Paniolo: 1832

(from a Spanish influence)

Cowboys in the Pacific Northwest: 1846

… and in California and Texas: 1848
