2018 is the first time there were none to represent the USS Arizona at the memorial.

What did you remember most… on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7th, 2018? Will it be the attack itself! Will it be the Admiral’s words, Admiral Harry Harris, in 2016, on how he felt about “taking a knee” during the rendering of our National Anthem? Will it be like any other day… when all of us turn complacently away without regard to the fallen of our past or reason they gave their lives (then) to ensure a better future for all. There has never been a more critical understanding of “what it takes to keep our country growing” than today, and the headlines of propaganda.

Whatever it might be to you, Don’t forget to pause a little on sacrifice to understand what it was like for the Sullivan Family. The Sullivan brothers served on the USS Juneau, and gave up their lives November 13th, 1942, as they were trying to get reinforcements to the Marines at Guadalcanal. Here is to the valor of honorable tasks but not the knee. We do not need weakkneed boys but men willing to stand up for good reason, just cause and to know the difference between the right thing to do vs. and its opposite.

The very reason brothers must serve on different vessels today… for the next generation.
