The mind can be like a steel trap…

prone to resisting efforts which

move it… enable it… bring what it

contains from just past the ditch,

grounded in thoughts that might

jell but not swell in our sight,

to settle on or for things we

were trained… to think them right,

no room exists beyond what we

might be capable of securing… all

the while we believe only the truth

of our training- a really bad call,

unwilling to budge, relent… recant

the truth we embrace… in our face,

when found to be unwilling to so

change… the iron jaws of disgrace.

“A belief is not merely an idea the mind possesses, it is an idea

that possesses the mind”

Robert Oxton Bolton
